Watercolor and acrylic paintings inspired by the Southwest
Landscapes — Gallery Three
During my early years of living in northern New Mexico, I painted the landscapes of my neighborhood. They emerged in vivid colors and organic shapes that I see in nature. They express my awe at the powerful geologic forces and creative energy in our world. What a gift to be living among the red rocks and prismatic earth tones of Triassic and Jurassic geological formations within the arms of Cerro Pedernal. Later landscapes became more abstract as I experimented with geometric grids to impose structure on the organic shapes and intense color.
Many of these paintings are watercolors on paper, others are acrylic and mixed media. Some originals were transformed to limited-edition prints that I continue to make available. Other popular images are provided on blank note cards and notecard sets. Enjoy those selections from the menu.
